Our last weekend in London was full of adventure and excitement, as was only to be expected. It was hot again, and I believe we left on one of the warmer days of the summer. However, we were well shielded by air-conditioning all around that day and hardly noticed the heat.
One last walk in Medway Valley together with my very first friend of this adventure.
Biking to another Springbank Summer Concert, featuring Encore Music playing pop classics, such as Gabriel's oboe tune of The Mission. I met some of my favourite people here, and was showered with more gifts, meals and heart-felt good byes. A dinner invitation with our German friends rounded off the day.
It was impossible to put off this job any longer. Our three cases had to be filled with the items we valued most - everything else had to stay behind; most of those things found a good new home before we left. In the end all the furniture was sold, even if we had to wait around a few hours. The rest was carted off to the Goodwill store.
This is one view I won't miss too much: the long and gloomy alley way with garbage chute at the lift: never a fine fragrance there or in the staircases.
We spent the last night at friends, enjoyed their hospitality and paper shredder, and had a comfortable enough ride to Toronto airport the following day.
Up, up and away! Art at the airport.
I guess this sums up airport life. We experienced enough of it, in three different countries.
