Grand Bend

An invitation to a summer cottage: every self-respecting Londoner seems to either have access to one, or rent one for a precious week or two during the season; we were treated to the full experience: beach and BBQ, followed by sunset. It was hot and sunny again, although during the journey it had been surprisingly cloudy.

The approach to Lake Huron is promising.

Although the water looks sparkling, it was actually so milky that we lost a Frisbee in the shallow waves.

Nothing but sand, water and sky. And the sun. I sought out the bits of shade I could locate.

Released back into the wild: we had collected these on Lake Erie to use for a game of Go - except we never got 'round to that. Rummikub occupied our gaming evenings.

After dinner, the sun had just set when I returned to the beach. Still - what a wonderful way to finish what seemed to me like an endless holiday.
