Day two of our once-in-a-lifetime trip to the Bruce. We got out of the hotel as early as we could (breakfast only served from 8 AM), entered the National Park right away and started walking on the well maintained paths and then quite rugged terrain of the Park.
They have got some active mosquitoes and horse flies here! Next to Marr Lake there was no escaping them.
Souvenirs of those tourists on (aptly named) Boulder Beach - but otherwise they had left little behind. Phew!
Our bathing spot - all alone, we could have skinny dipped, but other walkers were arriving when were packing up again.
Just around the corner from Boulder Beach lies the Grotto - a seriously pretty spot, main visitor destination in the Park.
Or is this the most visited spot in the Park: Indian Head Cove? The waters were so clear we went for a swim again! Explored the cave which can only be reached from the water, dived a bit with A.'s goggles: the world below the waterline was fascinating.

Soon this little, secluded cove filled up with people. Time for a quick exit. While we walked back to Cyprus Lake, more and more people in bathing suits kept coming towards us. They must have taken turns in the water and on the beach - all these people could not possibly all fit onto Indian Head Cove at the same time.
And then I went into the water again - at our lunch spot on shallow, warm and clear Cyprus Lake. In exchange for a couple of ripe peaches, other visitors with a B-B-Q grilled our burgers for us. Potato salad, burgers, peaches, tea and cheesecake: we had a brilliant picnic in the shade at the side of the lake. Of course, we never thought to slap on sun tan lotion: only a few minutes here, and a little swim there... All that exposed skin on my shoulders and back was well done by evening.
We would have liked to stay longer. Return to Bruce Trail, explore some more of the coastline. It was exceptionally beautiful at Georgian Bay. I would also recommend visiting this land of stone, woods and water to visitors - even though it is a fair distance from London. Five hours' driving really. We took the inland road and found it more pleasant than the coastal route along Lake Huron: there were far fewer road works. We did our homework and visited two car dealers to take a look at possible model options for when we are back home. And then we watched him:
A fascinating machine, such a combine harvester. Winter wheat was being brought in. The harvest would probably not take much drying the way the grain had been baked over the last few days. Wingfield Farm this was not. Rather, one sleek and relentless operation.
